Notice of Race
1. Organizing Authority and Venue
The 2015 Finn DIF-DM will be held from the 6th to the 8th of August in Vallensbæk, Denmark. The organizing Authority is Vallensbæk Sailing Club, in conjunction with the Danish Finn Class Association.
The Regatta Centre will be in Vallensbæk Sailing Club.
Race Office position: Immediately next to the berth
2.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), The Nordic Sailing Federation, the class rules and the rules for Danish Championships, except as any of these are altered by this Notice of Race or the Sailing Instructions. RRS Appendix P special procedures for rule 42 will apply.
2.3 All competitors shall have personal flotation in accordance with RRS 1.2. Personal floatation shall be of a suitable size and certified by an internationally recognized authority or in writing by the MNA of the competitor.
2.4 Racing rule(s) will be changed as follows:
- Rules 35, A4 and A5 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 10 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish.
- Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor cannot protest another boat or competitor for breaches of specific parts of the sailing instructions.
- Rule 61.1(b) will be changed so protests by the race committee and protest committee will be posted on the official notice board. Rule 62.1(a) will be changed so failure to meet the target time will not be grounds for redress.
- RRS 62.2 and RRS 66 will be changed to shorten the times for requesting redress and for requesting that a hearing be reopened on the last day of racing.
- Rule A4 will be changed by stating, that a boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.

Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
4. Eligibility and Entry
4.1 Only competitors eligible in accordance with Finn Class Rules, who are current members of an IFA, recognized National Finn Association, and a club registered in DS, or other national sailing associations and who have completed on-site registration prior to August 6th can compete.
4.2 Entries must be registered by entering online at http://www.finnjolle.dk no later than July 28 2015.
4.3 The Entry fee is 985 DKK and shall be paid via DTilmeld using the entry form on www.finnjolle.dk . Entries received before July 1 2015 are part of a lottery for 1 (one) free entry. The lottery will take place during the event.
4.4 No entry is complete until it has been accepted by the Organizing Authority and the National Finn Association.
4.5 Measurement Certificate, must be presented at on-site registration.
5. Competition Format
5.1 The regatta will consist of scheduled 32 races, and tree finals.
5.2 The final will be three races. First final race will be for top 10 boats from the opening series. The two boats with the highest score, after first final race. will be terminated. Hereafter will the remaining 8 boats race second final race, and the two boats with the highest score, after the two final races will be terminated. Hereafter the remaining 6 boats will race the final race. The boat with the lowest score after the tree final races will win the regatta.
5.3 If more than 30 boats participate in the event, the Race Committee can split the boats in two fleets. If two fleets are chosen the Race Committee can decide to use a Trapezoid course.
5.4 The time for sailing the course will be approximately 20 minutes. This can be changed by the Race Committee.

6.2 No race in the opening series will be started after 15:00 on the last day of racing.
6.3 In the event of any day’s sailing being lost, an additional race may be scheduled for the
following day(s) to enable the lost race(s) to be sailed.
7.1 All boats will not undergo measurement of hulls, spars and sails as well as equipment checks according the Finn Class Rules (including item 10 of Part C “Major Championship Rules”) unless otherwise decided by the DFA Chief Measurer.
7.2 All competitors shall hold a valid measurement and class registration certificate.
7.3 Each boat shall have a tow rope a minimum of 8 meters in length and of sufficient strength to tow several boats.
7.4 Boats may be re-measured at any time during the Championship.
8. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available upon on-site registration, and on http://www.finnjolle.dk.
Racing will be conducted on the waters just outside the regatta harbour.
10. The Courses
Courses will be as per appendix A (To be published later)
12.1 Ten (10) races are required to be completed to constitute a Danish Championship.
13. Support boats
Any Coach travelling to this event is responsible for supplying a Country Flag for any countries for which they will coach. Such flag(s) must be displayed aboard any coach or support boat while afloat in the vicinity of the racing area.
14. Radio Communications
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions nor receive radio communications not available to all boats while racing. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
15.1 The perpetual trophies will be awarded to the winners of the Danish National. The Organizing Authority will provide prices for each 5 boat (max 10) overall.
15.2 Daily prices will be awarded to the winder of the scheduled inport/harbour race.
16. Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority and DFA will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,5 million Euro per event or the equivalent. Proof of insurance shall be shown during during registration.
18. Doping Control
For the purposes of doping control (in-competition testing), the ISAF Anti-doping Code (ISAF regulation 21) will apply. The event shall be deemed to start at 11:00 August 06 2015.
19. Rights to use name and likeness
By participating in this event, competitors automatically grant to the organizing authority and the event sponsors the right, in perpetuity, to make, use, and show, at their discretion, any photography, audio and video recordings, and other reproductions of them made at the venue or on the water from the time of their arrival at the venue, until their final departure, without compensation.
20. Changes to the Notice of Race
